2012 Spelling Bee
Project GRAD Akron held its Sixth Annual Spelling Bee on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Schumacher Community Learning Center. The participating schools were Crouse Community Learning Center, Rankin Elementary School, and Schumacher Community Learning Center. In total, 17 students participated in the Spelling Bee. Each participant received a 2012 Spelling Bee t-shirt, a Dictionary-Thesaurus, a Spelling Bee medallion, and a participation certificate. First and second place winners received a trophy.
The first place winner was Kamara Shaw (pictured to the right), a fourth grader at Crouse Community Learning Center. The second place winner was Jazalyn Valley (pictured to the left), a fifth grader at Schumacher
Community Learning Center.
